Relief. Rebuild. Recover.

Frankston RSL – Supporting the Bush Fire Disaster Appeal
Current Appeal Tally $26,354.65

Like everyone in our nation we are devastated by the impact the current bush fires are having across our country.

We set ourselves a goal of $10,000 to raise by Friday 28 February to go towards supporting those communities in affected areas across Australia.

We are so excited to announce that we well and truly reached our goal! Over the 8 weeks of our appeal, members and guests to the club donated to the appeal by;

Frankston RSL pledged to match dollar for dollar on donations up to $10,000!

All Raised funds are being donated to BlazeAid who are working tirelessly to help rebuild fencing around farming properties that were burnt in the fires. This is a critical step in the recovery for these families, in order to move livestock back to their lands, the kilometres of fencing must be erected and ensured it is secure.

BlazeAid was founded by Kevin & Rhonda Butler of Kilmore East in 2009 following the Black Saturday Fires. Since then, they have helped coordinate the replacement of over 5,715km (and counting) of fence-line lost to fires and other natural disasters that have happened across Australia in the last 11 years.

This has helped over 3,870 farming families to get back on their feet. In the wake of the recent Victorian Bush fires, Frankston RSL have elected to donate all funds raised through our current appeal to help BlazeAid rebuild fencing for farming families in East Gipsland.

2020 Poppy Appeal

In a tumultuous year we are so grateful to all who volunteered their time to help us sell poppies and to all in the community who bought a poppy and donated to the appeal.

We proudly raised $37,127.99

2021 ANZAC Appeal Record

This year saw a return to our traditional way of selling badges. Our appeals team, lead by our Appeals Coordinator Peter Kerley, our team of volunteers spread through our community selling badges out of major shopping centres, schools, the train station and of course Bunnings! 2021 saw the use of EFTPOS terminals being introduced at all selling stations, which made a huge impact on the total funds raised as it allowed those who do not usually carry cash, to purchase a badge or make a donation with ease.

Across the 3 week appeal, the Frankston community helped us raise a record breaking amount of $83,988.34!!

This is an amazing effort and achievement and we thank everyone who contributed to this total this will go such a long way to assist veterans and their families.

Thank you!
